Are the misfortunes and afflictions that befall a young man addicted to pornography after every sin and repentance a punishment or wrath from Allah, especially since he prays but cannot abandon this sin?

Trials may be a punishment and a warning from Allah to cease committing sins, or for a wisdom known only to Him, glory be to Him. Calamities arise from disobedience, as Allah Almighty said: "And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is because of what your hands have earned, and He pardons much."

You must repent sincerely from sin, and do not tire of repeating repentance whenever you sin; for Allah extends His hand at night to accept the repentance of the sinner of the day, and extends His hand by day to accept the repentance of the sinner of the night.

Increase in good deeds and acts of obedience; for "indeed good deeds do away with evil deeds." Keep the company of the righteous, and adhere to supplication and humble entreaty to Allah to grant you well-being; for the successful one is he whom Allah has granted success.
