Does a Muslim attain Firdaws simply by supplicating for it?

Mere supplication does not admit its supplicant to Paradise or attain for him the highest Firdaws, unless the supplicant is a believer and performs righteous deeds. Faith and righteous deeds are two conditions for the acceptance of supplication and entry into Paradise, just as polytheism deprives its perpetrator of Paradise. Allah Almighty described the people of Firdaws as those believers who are humble in their prayers, turn away from idle talk, practice charity (zakat), guard their chastity, observe their trusts and covenants, and maintain their prayers. A supplication from a heedless, playful heart is not answered. Supplication is a great act of worship, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged asking Allah for Firdaws. He also promised that whoever sincerely asks for martyrdom will attain the status of martyrs. Therefore, mere supplication, without fulfilling the conditions for acceptance and the absence of impediments, does not enable its supplicant to reach the highest Firdaws.
