What is the ruling on the wording of vows that include: a vow to seek forgiveness after watching movies and TV series, with conditions for an increase upon forgetting or delaying; a vow to seek forgiveness for every insult; a vow to fast two consecutive days upon masturbating; a vow to seek forgiveness for every open sin; and a vow to read a page of the Quran daily? Are these intentions and wordings permissible in Sharia? Is sincere repentance valid along with performing the aforementioned expiations and refraining from making vows in the future?

Vows made to prevent oneself from sin (vows of obstinacy and anger) offer the individual a choice between fulfilling the vow or offering an expiation for breaking an oath (kaffarat yamin). If one wishes to fulfill it, the vow must be discharged in the manner it was made. If one breaks it, they may choose to perform the vowed act or offer an expiation for breaking an oath. As for vows made to draw closer to Allah (vows of devotion), they must be fulfilled. If one fails to fulfill it without a valid excuse, then according to the Hanbalis, they are obligated to make it up (qada') and offer expiation.
