Is it permissible to pray behind an imam with whom the congregants are displeased, and who cannot be replaced for fear of his harm?

Previously, the madhhabs of the scholars concerning the imamate of one disliked by the worshippers were explained. The prayer behind the aforementioned imam is valid, even if it is assumed that the congregation dislikes him due to his فسق (open sinfulness); for prayer behind an open sinner is valid, though it is better to follow someone else who is free from open sinfulness, if available.
