What was the etiquette that children used to learn from the disciplinarian in the past, and does the disciplinarian differ from the sheikh in our current time, and how can I teach my children etiquette if it is not possible to reach a sheikh?

The beneficial disciplinarian is the divinely-guided scholar (Rabbani al-ʿalim) who adheres to the Sacred Law, and is adorned with good manners and excellent character. It is incumbent upon him to first reform himself, because the eyes of the learners are fixed upon him. What he considers good is considered good by them, and what he dislikes is considered ugly by them. He must teach them the Book of Allah without coercion or abandonment, and he should provide them with the purest poetry and the noblest hadith (definition). He should not move them from one field of knowledge to another until they have mastered it, lest too much information overwhelm their hearing and confuse their understanding.
