Did Halimah al-Sa'diyah embrace Islam, and is she considered a Sahabiyah (female companion of the Prophet)?

Scholars differed regarding whether Halimah Al-Sa'diyah and her husband embraced Islam, but most of them are of the view that she did. Ibn Hibban and others authenticated the narration of her embracing Islam, and many included her among the Companions, such as Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani in "Al-Isabah." Therefore, the preponderant opinion is that she embraced Islam and was a Companion.
