Was Halimah, the wet nurse of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, a person of distinction, and did she embrace Islam?

Scholars differed regarding whether Halima al-Sa'diya, the Prophet's wet nurse (peace and blessings be upon him), embraced Islam. Ibn al-Qayyim inclined to refrain from a definitive opinion on this matter, while many prominent memorizers of Hadith affirmed her Islam and considered her among the Companions.

Undoubtedly, her suckling of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is a great virtue for her, and a great blessing befell her because of it. This blessing was also manifested in the Prophet's honoring of the Hawazin tribe after the Battle of Hunayn, where he freed their captives and bestowed favors upon them after they reminded him of his suckling among them. All of this is from his immediate blessings in this world. However, there is no specific Hadith indicating the virtue of Halima al-Sa'diya.
