Is it permissible to engage in sexual intercourse in any position whatsoever, whether sitting, standing, reclining, or in any other form, and what are the consequences for one who does so?

A man may have intercourse with his wife in any position, as long as the penetration is in the vagina. This is supported by the revelation of Allah's Almighty saying: "Your wives are a place of cultivation for you, so come to your place of cultivation however you wish," which came down in response to the Jews who claimed that having intercourse with a woman from behind makes the child cross-eyed. This includes approaching the woman from the front, from behind, or while she is lying down, as long as the penetration is in the place of childbirth.
