Is it permissible to buy clothes with imitation brands for personal use and not for the brand itself, and what is the ruling on praying in them if they cover the 'awrah?

It is not permissible to infringe upon the trademark or trade name of brands without the permission of their owners, as this is considered counterfeiting and a religiously forbidden transgression. Accordingly, it is not permissible to purchase clothes or other items bearing counterfeit brands, so that the purchaser does not become a partner in sin with those who produce them, unless the purchaser knows that the brand owner has given permission to the manufacturing company or strongly believes that permission has been obtained. As for praying in these clothes, the prayer is valid, though there is sin if the purchaser bought them knowing they were counterfeit and forbidden.
