Is the call to Allah (Da'wah ila Allah) different from enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong (Al-Amr bi Al-Ma'ruf wa Al-Nahy an Al-Munkar)?

The call to Allah (Da‘wah) and enjoining good and forbidding evil share a general and specific relationship, with Da‘wah being more general and comprehensive. Allah Almighty has linked them in His saying: "And let there be [arising] from you a nation inviting to [all that is] good, enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful" [Aal-Imran: 104].

Da‘wah to Allah is the propagation, teaching, and application of Islam. It is based on knowledge, insight, and wisdom. It is "a genus under which are two types: encouraging the doing of what should be done, which is enjoining good, and encouraging the abandonment of what should not be done, which is forbidding evil."
