A woman's maniy (seminal fluid) is yellowish and thin; it may turn white with strong desire. Its smell resembles that of a man's maniy, and it is discharged with pleasure, followed by relaxation. As for madhiy (pre-seminal fluid), it is a thin, white, sticky liquid that is discharged with slight desire and is not followed by relaxation. The difference between them is that maniy is discharged with great pleasure and is followed by relaxation, while madhiy is discharged with slight pleasure and is not followed by relaxation. If the discharge is maniy, ghusl (ritual bath) is obligatory. If it is madhiy, it is obligatory to wash whatever it has touched of the body and clothing. If the discharge consists of natural secretions that are neither maniy nor madhiy, they invalidate wudu' (ablution), and out of caution, it is recommended to wash them.
