The semen of a woman is often yellow and may turn white due to increased nourishment. It has two characteristics: its smell, which is similar to the smell of a man's semen, and the pleasure felt upon its emission, followed by a cooling of desire. Semen may be discharged in varying quantities, and it is not necessary for it to be in a large amount for it to be felt. If a woman is not certain that secretions have been discharged, or if she predominantly thinks so, she is not required to search for them, in accordance with the noble Hadith: "He should not leave [his prayer] until he hears a sound or finds a smell." The discharge of fluid outside the vagina necessitates istinja' (washing of the private parts) if it is impure, such as madhi (pre-seminal fluid) or wadi (thick white discharge after urination), or secretions from the urinary exit. Feeling secretions without them exiting the vagina does not nullify wudu' (ablution), nor does it necessitate searching for them or wiping them.
