Is it permissible to work as a cashier in a supermarket in Germany that sells alcoholic beverages, given the urgent need for work and the unavailability of other opportunities, and knowing that this will require touching them to pass them under the scanner?

It is not permissible to work in selling alcohol or to assist in it in any way, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) curse upon ten people concerning alcohol, among them its seller and the one who consumes its price. As for a Muslim's need for earning, genuine necessity, with its recognized conditions, permits doing what is forbidden to preserve life.
