What are the Sharia-sanctioned costs and expenses of marriage that do not infringe on the wife's rights?

The wife is entitled to a dowry from her husband once a valid marriage contract has been concluded. There is no agreed-upon maximum limit for it among scholars. As for the minimum, the majority of scholars hold that it is valid with whatever the spouses mutually agree upon, as long as it has some benefit, even if its value is small. The gifts that a man offers to a woman he wishes to marry are not obligatory for him; rather, they are subject to his will and ability.
