The answer

If a fasting person forgets and eats or drinks, their fast remains valid, and they are not required to make up for it. This is based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever forgets while fasting and eats or drinks, let him complete his fast, for indeed it was Allah who fed him and gave him drink." This applies to both small and large amounts of eating and drinking, and this is the preponderant opinion.
