What is the ruling on taking stimulant pills?

The prohibition of consuming anything harmful to humans is a general principle in Islam. Stimulant and energizing pills, such as amphetamines, have severe detrimental effects on the body and mind, despite being used to increase activity or concentration. They can lead to addiction and serious health and psychological problems. "No harm shall be inflicted or reciprocated." The harm resulting from these pills outweighs any temporary benefit, and warding off evil takes precedence over acquiring benefits. These medications can be forgone through other healthy and safe methods, such as organizing study times and getting sufficient rest for drivers.
