Is the name "Tayf" among the disliked names?

Naming a Muslim "Tayf" (phantom/specter) is disliked because the word carries negative connotations, such as a figment of imagination or demonic possession. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, preferred good names and disliked bad ones, changing them, as occurred in the story of the man who wanted to milk the she-camel. The criteria for names forbidden by Islamic law are those that involve servitude to other than Allah, or names and attributes exclusive to Allah, or those that contain dispraise or self-praise. Other than these, there is no objection, and it is preferable to choose a good name.
