What should a son living abroad do when his parents visit him, and then his father begins to get angry with his son's wife, accusing her of sometimes not greeting him and being arrogant, and describing his son as lacking in masculinity and upbringing if he tries to justify that, knowing that the wife loves and obeys her husband and is not negligent?

It is recommended to be patient with the father and to manage him skillfully during the visit, and to avoid justifying the wife's actions that might provoke the father. There is no blame for disliking the father's bad behavior, but one must be careful not to harm him; for filial impiety occurs with the slightest harm. One must be keen on honoring the father no matter how badly he behaves, for his misbehavior does not negate the obligation to honor him, and honoring him may help in his reformation and gaining his satisfaction. Finally, one must resort to Allah with supplication to mend the relationship and preserve affection.
