Must a girl, ten years of age, whose parents prevented her from fasting the entire Ramadan, make up the days she did not fast?

If a girl has not reached puberty, she incurs no sin for not fasting, and she is not required to make up the fasts, because fasting is only obligatory upon reaching puberty, based on the hadith: "The pen has been lifted from three," and among them he mentioned: "the child until he reaches puberty."

Nevertheless, her guardians should instruct her to fast if she is able to, rather than preventing her, as accustoming a child to obedience and guiding them towards it is one of the objectives of the Shari'ah, so they become accustomed to it before puberty. Indeed, the Companions used to make their children fast on Ashura.

It is desirable to instruct children to fast for training purposes if they are able to endure it. A group of the Salaf, such as Ibn Sirin, Al-Zuhri, Al-Shafi'i, and others, have stated this. They differed on the age at which a child should be commanded to fast; some said seven years, others said ten, while the majority held that fasting is not obligatory for those who have not reached puberty.
