This type of sale is permissible if it is conducted according to the Sharia guidelines for Murabaha (cost-plus financing), provided that the bank appoints an agent (an employee or the customer himself) to purchase the car, conclude the contract, and take possession of the goods. Then, the bank sells it to the customer in two separate transactions. It is not permissible to take a down payment (earnest money) in exchange for reserving the item, because it is not permissible to take compensation for granting a grace period. The gifts, facilities, and privileges offered by the bank are permissible, as long as they are not for the sole purpose of obtaining currency exchange facilities in exchange for fixed deposits or for depositing and increasing the balance, because in that case, it would be a loan that yields a benefit, which is forbidden.
