1. Is it permissible for the Imam and preacher of a mosque to be someone who has repented from previous sins? 2. Is "Allah blesses the swift mount and the obedient woman" an authentic Hadith?

Whoever repents of his sin, no matter how great it was, Allah will forgive him. His appointment as an Imam and Khatib is permissible, and it is valid to follow him in prayer. The Imamate and Khutbah of a fasiq (transgressor) are valid according to the preponderant opinion, even though it is not permissible to appoint him for that. As for the hadith: "Allah blesses the swift mount and the obedient woman," it was not narrated with this wording. However, what indicates its meaning was narrated in the hadith of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him): "Among the happiness of the son of Adam are three, and among the misery of the son of Adam are three. Among the happiness of the son of Adam are a righteous wife, a good house, and a good mount. And among the misery of the son of Adam are an evil wife, an evil house, and an evil mount." Al-Munawi explained "the pleasant mount" as the swift mount. The explanation of the righteous woman came in the hadith of Abu Dawud: "The best thing a person can hoard is a righteous wife: when he looks at her, she pleases him; when he commands her, she obeys him; and when he is absent from her, she guards him."
