Is it permissible to attend the annual Women's Day celebration organized by the governmental institution and accept the symbolic gift offered there, knowing that the celebration includes only a congratulatory speech, cake, juice, and tea, without music or singing?

It is not permissible to celebrate Women's Day, Mother's Day, or similar occasions, due to the imitation of disbelievers and innovation involved. Therefore, it is not permissible to attend such celebrations.

As for accepting a gift from them without participating in the celebration, there is no harm in it, for the Companions accepted gifts from the Majus (Zoroastrians) on their festivals.
