What is the ruling on money spent by a person from earnings containing a degree of doubt before his repentance, and is he obligated to donate a similar amount after repenting?

Doubtfulness concerning money does not necessitate its disposal except as a matter of piety and precaution. As for entirely unlawful money, it must be disposed of by giving it to the poor, the needy, and for public welfare, unless the acquirer was ignorant of its unlawfulness, in which case he may benefit from it. If he is poor and in need, he may spend from it on himself and his dependents.
