Is a girl's forgiveness of the young man who took money from her as a gift sufficient to absolve him Islamically?

If money is taken in exchange for fornication, it is ill-gotten wealth that is impermissible to benefit from, and it must be returned to the girl. If she refuses to accept it, then it should be given to the poor and needy or to charitable projects. However, if the money was taken as a donation or a gift, there is no harm in benefiting from it.
