Methods of photography, such as video, their ruling is dependent on the goals of their use. If they are used for purely (forbidden) purposes, then they are haram. If they are used for purely (permissible) purposes, then they are halal. If they combine both, then their ruling is for the غالب (predominant use). It is forbidden to use them to photograph what is impermissible to photograph, such as nude women and musical concerts. This is the predominant use of these methods. Therefore, it is advised to avoid work in which their use in forbidden matters predominates.
