The Gharqad tree: It is the Boxthorn (Awsaj) tree when it grows large, and it has many thorns. Al-Nawawi said: "Al-Gharqad is a type of thorny tree well-known in Jerusalem." Al-Qurtubi said: "And the Awsaj, when it grows large, is called Al-Gharqad."
