Is it permissible for someone who is not needed to be present during the washing of the deceased?

It is disliked for anyone other than the washer and those assisting him to be present during the washing of the deceased, due to the possibility of defects or things that one would dislike to be revealed. It is recommended to shield the deceased from eyes, and it is recommended for those present to lower their gaze, except out of necessity. There is no limit to the number of attendees; rather, it is restricted by need. Some scholars have exempted the guardian of the deceased from the dislike of presence, even if there is no necessity, due to compassion.
