If the sister ascertains that her brother is committing sodomy, and he is unaware that she knows, the first step is to advise him indirectly. This can be done by having him listen to lectures or giving him tapes containing admonitions about this subject.
If he repents and becomes upright, then praise be to Allah. If he persists, she must confront him and advise him gently, reminding him of Allah’s punishment and the consequences of indecency, and threatening to inform his guardian or someone who can deter him.
Emphasis is placed on the importance of the family's responsibility in upbringing and monitoring their children.
