Is it permissible for girls aged 14 and above to chant children's songs?

It is permissible for a mature girl to sing or chant for young children, provided that the lyrics are permissible or call to goodness and righteousness, and that it is not accompanied by musical instruments except for the dufuf (tambourines), and that it is not in the presence of non-mahram men or broadcast on satellite channels and the like. This is because the default rule for customs is permissibility, and due to the benefit it offers the child in terms of upbringing and care, and because there are texts from jurists permitting a woman to sing to soothe her child.

It must be noted that a woman's voice is not awrah (nakedness) in itself, but it is forbidden to speak in a soft and alluring manner that leads to covetousness in those with sickness in their hearts. Therefore, it is not permissible to be lenient in broadcasting a mature girl's singing publicly.
