There is no harm in punishing oneself for falling short in Fajr prayer, as it has been narrated from theaf جواز معاقبة النفس لحملها على الطاعة that it is permissible to punish oneself to compel it to obedience, just as Ibn Wahb did when he vowed to fast or give charity whenever he backbit. In doing so, one must ensure that no harm comes to oneself. As for a husband disciplining his wife for the right of Allah Almighty, there is a difference of opinion among jurists.
