Is the profession of teaching drawing and its earnings unlawful (haram), even though I will not instruct or order children to draw animate beings (three-dimensional drawings)?

It cannot be stated that the profession of teaching drawing is absolutely forbidden. Rather, what is forbidden is teaching the drawing of complete images of animate beings, unless there is an overriding benefit. Teaching the drawing of animate beings may be permitted for an overriding benefit, such as teaching children. The money earned from teaching drawing is not inherently forbidden. Rather, money earned from teaching forbidden drawings without an overriding benefit is forbidden, because every forbidden act makes it unlawful to take compensation for it, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, when Allah forbids something, He forbids its price."
