Is it permissible for someone afflicted with a physical disability that causes people to mock them, and who does not possess the means for its treatment, to seek assistance?

Advice is directed to those who have the means to extend a helping hand and provide comfort to those in need, for Islam is a religion of mercy and mutual support, and humans are commanded to spend in acts of righteousness and benevolence. It is also advised to be patient and seek reward from Allah Almighty for whatever tribulation has befallen, for patience necessitates attaining what Allah has prepared for the patient, and every trial that befalls a Muslim expiates his sins and raises his ranks. It is advised to be patient with Allah's decree with a tranquil heart and a grateful tongue, and that there is good in this in both this world and the Hereafter. We advise people of good intentions to offer help to those like you who are afflicted, for in comforting them there is much good and abundant reward.
