What is the ruling of Islamic law concerning a vow a person made to himself not to deal with some of his relatives and friends, to the extent that he supplicated upon himself to enter Hellfire if he retracted this vow?

The questioner is advised to live his life normally, organize his time, divide it among his duties, give himself his share of rest, and mix with people to the extent that benefits his religious and worldly affairs. As for the mentioned vow, he is not obligated to fulfill it, and there is no sin upon him if he breaks it. It is better for him to break it and offer an expiation for an oath.
