What is meant by Islamic Studies?

Studying anything means becoming familiar with it and reviewing research related to its essence and characteristics. What is meant by Islamic studies is the study of the Islamic religion from all its aspects, understanding its beliefs, acts of worship, ethics, and dealings, as well as research related to it, such as its suitability for every time and place, demonstrating its virtues and distinguishing it from others, and refuting doubts and problems that may arise concerning it. Departments, faculties, institutes, research centers, and universities have been established for this purpose.
