What is the ruling on fruit (grapes and figs) grown in the mosque by a sheikh who has passed away, and is it permissible to give it to the worshippers?

Many scholars dislike planting trees in mosques because it narrows them and resembles the actions of vendors. Imam Ahmad explicitly stated this. If a tree is found in a mosque and bears fruit, its fruit should be sold and the proceeds spent on the mosque's maintenance and construction. It should not be given to worshippers unless they are maintaining the mosque.
