Is a man sinful if he slaughters his sacrifice himself while he is in a state of major ritual impurity (junub)?

The sacrifice of one who is in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) or a menstruating woman is permissible (halal) because being in a state of major ritual impurity does not prevent one from uttering the Tasmiyah (Bismillah) and making remembrance of Allah. Similarly, a menstruating woman is like one who is in a state of major ritual impurity. Jurists have used as evidence for this what Al-Bukhari narrated from Ka’b ibn Malik that a young girl of theirs was tending sheep and slaughtered a sheep that was close to death with a stone. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded that it be eaten and did not inquire further about it.
