What is the age of narration? And when does it end? And may Allah reward you with all good.

The era of narration is the era in which narrators relied on memorization and oral transmission to convey hadith. It encompasses the first three favored centuries, up to the end of the third Hijri century, when its golden age concluded. After that, a small number of narrators continued until the fifth century. Ibn Hajar, in his book "Taqrib al-Tahdhib," included the era of the Companions, the Tabi'in, and their successors. Dr. Dia al-Rahman al-A'zami believes this division is appropriate, as the era of narration ends at the close of the third century, which is the era of the six Imams and those with them.
