Is refraining from kissing one's mother and sisters on occasions and holidays, out of fear of lust, considered a dereliction of their rights, and what is the best place to kiss one's mother?

There is no harm in kissing the hand, foot, and head of one's mother out of respect and dutifulness towards her. It is permissible to kiss maharim (unmarriageable kin) like a sister when a Muslim returns from a journey, provided that the kiss is not out of desire. It is preferable for it to be on the hand, head, or forehead, and not on the mouth. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kissed Fatimah, and she kissed him. However, if there is a fear of temptation (fitnah), then kissing female maharim must be avoided.
