How can one reconcile the definition of faith as "belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree, both its good and bad" with the Prophet's (PBUH) saying: "Faith has seventy-odd branches"?

The pillars of faith are six, as mentioned in the Hadith of Gabriel: faith in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and divine preordainment (Qadar), both its good and its bad. As for the branches of faith, which include deeds, they are seventy-odd branches. Allah Almighty has referred to prayer as faith in His saying: ﴿And never would Allah have caused your faith to be lost. Indeed Allah is, to the people, Kind and Merciful.﴾
