Does divorce take place when the children grow up, if the husband swore by Allah Almighty that he would divorce his wife then?

The husband's statement, "I will divorce you when my children grow up," is a promise of divorce and an affirmation of it by an oath. No divorce takes place when the children grow up unless a new act of divorce is initiated. There is no obligation to fulfill this promise, nor is it recommended. If the husband does not divorce, he must offer expiation for breaking an oath.
