Does a divorce take place if the husband says to his wife: "By Allah, I will divorce you tomorrow," while he has no intention of divorcing her?

This utterance does not result in divorce. It is merely a promise to divorce on the morrow, confirmed by an oath. The husband is not obliged to fulfill this promise or to honor his oath. However, the husband must offer expiation for breaking an oath if he does not divorce on the morrow.
