What is the ruling on working for a company that sells food products containing gelatin extracted from pork fat, and how sound is the statement that it is permissible to consume these products if the pork fat has undergone a transformation (istihala)? And how can one verify this?

It is forbidden to extract gelatin from pigs or from animals not slaughtered according to Islamic rites (non-Dhabiha). If complete transformation (istihalah) of the forbidden-sourced gelatin has not occurred, then its consumption is forbidden. Accordingly, it is forbidden to sell foods, sweets, and cleaning products that contain this gelatin. It is also not permissible to work for a company that sells it or assists in its sale, unless one can work without participating in its promotion.
