Is there sin upon wives and children if they boycott a father who boycotts them and abuses them with insults and imprecations, and refrains from spending on his young children while he is well-off?
The father's displeasure with his daughter's marriage after it has been legally concluded has no effect, for the marriage bond is in the husband's hand, and the daughter is not obligated to obey her father in separating from her husband. The second sister was not obliged to agree to the husband chosen by the father, but she will be rewarded if she does so to please him. The maintenance of poor young children is the responsibility of the wealthy father. Filial piety is not nullified by the father's shortcomings, and you will be rewarded for your patience. If the father refuses to communicate, there is no sin upon you. A father's supplication against his children without a just cause is not answered.
