Is it true that a singer on the Day of Resurrection will wish he had been an animal so that he could turn to dust, and has any scholar said this, and what is the ruling on propagating such a statement?

The scholars have not mentioned that a singer will wish to be dust in the hereafter, nor that the verse: "And the disbeliever will say, 'Oh, I wish that I were dust!'" (78:40) includes him. The verse is specific to the disbeliever. Whoever claims otherwise must provide proof; otherwise, it would be a mere opinion regarding the Book of Allah. It has been narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever speaks concerning the Qur'an without knowledge, let him take his seat in the Hellfire." And from Jundub ibn Abdullah, he said: "Whoever speaks concerning the Qur'an with his own opinion, even if he is correct, he has erred." Therefore, it is not permissible to interpret the Qur'an with mere opinion without knowledge or proof.
