Am I obligated to obey my husband regarding the start and end of Ramadan fasting according to Saudi Arabia, or should I follow the country where I will be fasting, especially since this year I will be fasting in a Muslim country that sometimes differs from Saudi Arabia in the start and end of fasting?

Scholars differ on the issue of whether other countries are obligated to begin and end their fast based on the sighting of the moon in a specific country, and this matter is subject to ijtihad (independent reasoning). The prevalent opinion is that each community should follow its own sighting, as this is further removed from discord. A wife is not obligated to obey her husband in abandoning what she believes to be the more sound opinion or in abandoning the following of someone she deems more worthy of being followed.
