Is it obligatory to make up the fast for someone who fasted a day earlier than their country, following a group that fasted upon sighting the Saudi Arabian moon, after the sighting was later confirmed in their own country? And should they break their fast with their country or with the general sighting?

If a Muslim is in an Islamic country that relies on the sighting of the moon, he must follow that country in fasting and breaking the fast, and it is not permissible for him to contradict it, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The fast is the day you fast, and the Eid al-Fitr is the day you break your fast, and Eid al-Adha is the day you offer your sacrifices.”

He must follow the scholars of his country in what they deem most probable concerning the differing new moon sightings and not observe fast or break it individually.

The Council of Senior Scholars has affirmed that every Islamic country has the right to choose what its scholars deem appropriate in this matter. Therefore, you must conform to your country, which relies on sighting for fasting and breaking the fast.
