Is it permissible to mix, joke, and play card games with female cousins in the presence of mahrams, while wearing the legal hijab, and without touching or being in seclusion?
We have previously explained the permissibility of family gatherings with their legitimate Islamic controls. Joking, laughing, and playing between men and women who are not mahrams is a cause of fitna (temptation/strife) and contradicts good manners and modesty. If Allah Almighty forbade women from striking their feet so that their hidden adornments would not be known, how then could joking, laughing, and playing be permissible?!
Sincere repentance ( Nasooh) is obligatory for sins. Performing acts of obedience does not prevent accountability for sins unless they are forgiven by expiating good deeds or atoning calamities. A Muslim should not belittle any sin, even if it is small, for minor sins accumulate upon a person until they destroy him.
