What is the ruling on sending money to family in another country through a person who will receive the amount later?

This transaction is considered currency exchange (Musarafa), and it requires physical or constructive possession in the contract session. If it is done with a recognized bank or financial institution and the bank issues a certified check to the customer or credits the amount in its ledgers, then that is considered constructive possession. However, if the transaction is done with an ordinary person and the condition of possession is not met, it is permissible in cases of general need, such as the unavailability of exchange offices, and this is considered a concession.
