Is he who is negligent in learning that the heavens, the Footstool (Kursi), and the Throne (Arsh) encompass the Earth considered a disbeliever, just as Abu Hanifa stipulated in Al-Fiqh al-Akbar that whoever does not know where Paradise is, is a disbeliever?
The book 'Al-Fiqh al-Akbar' is not definitively attributed to Abu Hanifa, but it is narrated therein that whoever denies Allah is in the heavens is considered a disbeliever, based on the verse: "The Most Merciful [Allah] ascended above the Throne." Scholars have differed on the shape of the Throne, with some researchers concluding it is dome-shaped, citing weak hadiths and the presence of its pillars, which negates its roundness. It is obligatory to believe that the Throne is the greatest of creations and that Allah ascended above it. As for details not mentioned in sound texts, it is not obligatory for every Muslim to believe in them. Rather, the obligation to know these details varies according to one's capacity and need.
