What is the ruling on killing stray dogs with poison, and what if that causes the death of other animals such as cats?

It is not permissible to intentionally kill animals, except for what the Shariah has permitted to kill, such as the rabid dog and what causes harm to Muslims. If the aforementioned dogs cause harm, then it is permissible to kill them, but it is not permissible to kill them with poison unless it is guaranteed that other animals, which the Shariah has not permitted to kill, will not be harmed.
